County Galway is one of Ireland's cultural centres, offering an amazing range of festivals all year round. No sooner are the Christmas and New Year celebrations out of the way - of which the fabulous Clifden on Ice throughout December into early January is one of many not to be missed - than Múscailt, NUI Galway's annual spring Festival of the Arts, takes place in February. It showcases the artistic achievements of University students, graduates and staff, whilst also welcoming many national and international artists.
