| Festivals

A full spectrum of festivals can be enjoyed in Ireland in all its counties all year round. The festivals are a celebration of Ireland's achievements including literature, song, dance, sport, film, food and drink. Often festival admission is free or nominal and is attended by locals and tourists alike.

Many festivals have been on the calander for decades such as The Cork Film Festival dating back to the 1950's. Some festivals have spanned generations including Kerry's Puck Fair Festival dating back to the 17th century.

Whilst most festivals are a celebration of local culture, attractions and talent; international capabilities has opened the gateway to celebrations both home and away. International film and music festivals amongst others have gained recognition and respect globally.
