Cork International Choral Festival (2 - 6 May 2007)
Cork Choral Festival was founded in 1954 and has evolved to be an international event. Originally the Festival helped develop choral music throughout Ireland and it now welcomes international visitors and competitors. It is a 4 day event and is held in venues across Cork with the main platform being Cork's City Hall.

Aloys Fleischmann was a composer who devoted his life to music in Cork and Ireland. He was also heavily involved with the Cork International Choral Festival. In his honour there is a trophy, the "Fleischmann International Trophy" which is competed for by amateur choirs.

Individuals, groups and schools also have the opportunity to be heard and compete over the festival days. Other competions include Premier National Competitions, National Open Competition, National Competition for Youth Choirs, National Competition for Light, Jazz and Popular Music and National Competition for Church Music.

This 4 day event is full of masterpieces of rich vocal beauty. It is the longest-lasting annual festival in Ireland due to the inspirational choral works presented beautifully by performers.
